Job: Class project // Client: Joshua Green // Role: Designer
Josh Green was my client for my first school project in the IUPUI interior design technology program. He played the role of a client in need of a great room makeover – no budget. Josh asked for a great room primarily for entertainment, conversation, and use of technology. He requested a black, white, and red color scheme and for the TV to be placed over the fireplace in order to be the focal point of the room. Josh and I worked together to come up with a sophisticated version of his color scheme, adding a camel leather sofa and a red oriental rug to warm up an otherwise very cool, modern space. Since there was no budget, I had fun picking out high end furnishings and imagining a cabinet on either side of the fireplace made of 2″ wide pieces of wood separated by sections of black mesh to allow for his electronics to be controlled while the cabinet doors remained shut. Josh also asked for a bar for entertaining, so we made sure to include it in the main conversational part of the room, placed so his guest’s view of the sports game won’t be blocked!
